WHY I CHOSE JOGA
MY JOGA STORY
My passion for Joga comes from my own past athletic experiences. I was a competitive figure skater & soccer player, and also played field hockey and was a sprinter in track in high school. I suffered numerous injuries, and I never was really doing anything training wise for my mobility/stability. I wasn’t doing anything for myself mentally as well, and when faced with a lot of injuries, confidence is hugely affected by this, and can take a big mental toll. I wish I had Joga when I was in my prime as an athlete, as it would have helped me both physically & mentally be a better athlete overall. I have never been flexible (even as a figure skater), and the Joga program doesn’t care if you can touch your toes or get into bendy positions-and that’s what I love about it.
I continued my love for athletics and obtained my degree in Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences in Exercise Science & Health Promotion, becoming a Registered Kinesiologist, and also a NCCP Figure Skating Coach. And then I became a Joga Coach! I continue to stay active through a variety of sports/activities, and adding Joga into the mix has helped me continue to be a stronger, well rounded athlete.
My goals for the athletes that I coach is to provide them with a space to recover both mentally and physically, and provide them with a program that is built for their athletic bodies, that will enhance their performance. I want to help athletes achieve their athletic goals, both mentally & physically, and both in and out of their sport. Being a Joga coach I am able to work with athletes “behind the scenes”, and watch them improve, grow, succeed, and conquer.

WHY I CHOSE JOGA
MY JOGA STORY
Supporting athletes in my various roles as a sports chiropractor, athletic trainer and JOGA Coach has been my career for over 20 years.
The JOGA system, designed with the understanding of how athletes move as they compete and train, has proven to be an invaluable resource with a variety of applications. Whether the goal is to build strength and joint stability in foundation postures to gain mobility or as part of a scheduled active recovery day, the varying intensities and low impact nature of this training is well suited for both amateur and professional athletes.
Primarily working with high performance athletes in contact sports like hockey and lacrosse, has proven to me how essential preparation is to success. As needed, I coordinate and structure JOGA sessions with Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Medical & Training staff and Technical Skills Coaches to support both in-season and off-season fitness goals for the athlete or team. The ability to manage workloads, modify programming for injury and support an active recovery plan are just a few of the benefits that motivated me to become a JOGA Coach.
Join a session or reach out to me to discuss your training goals and Let’s GOOOOOO!

WHY I CHOSE JOGA
MY JOGA STORY
I choose JOGA because, unlike yoga, it helps take care of both the mind AND the athletic body.
I love JOGA because it brings together some of the missing links in athletic performance care.
Whether you are an individual or a team looking to change your game JOGA truly benefits an athlete in preparation and recovery for their sport. JOGA strengthens and conditions muscles to prevent injury or recover from injury at an expedited pace.
My JOGA mission is to provide athletes with the necessary tools to improve mental focus and cope with the stress of the game; all the while feeling improvements in their physical wellbeing.

WHY I CHOSE JOGA
MY JOGA STORY
My love for competitive sports was developed in my youth as a champion on the National Iranian Gymnast team.
After completing her bachelor degree in physical education and sports science, she worked as a gymnastics coach, swimming teacher, and group fitness instructor in Tehran. During this period, Rozita coached the national Iranian gymnastics B team, which ranked second for two consecutive years.
Moving to Dubai, Roshan became a physical education teacher in a private school for 5 years prior to landing in Vancouver BC where she settled and continued to developer her career.Throughout the past 15 years in Vancouver, Rozita has maintained her certification with Gymnastics BC and has earned the respect and admiration of athletes and their parents as a competitive (Flicka and Balance) and recreational (West Vancouver Recreation Centre) gymnastics coach.
After suffering a knee injury and going through physio and rehab exercises to overcome her injury, Rozita inadvertently took part in a Joga (Yoga for athletes) class at Steve Nash Sports Club and discovered that it helped her to cope with her chronic knee pain. Recognizing Rozita was an advanced student who exhibited a love for the classes, the instructor encouraged her to become a certified Joga coach. Shortly thereafter, Roshan completed the coaches training and is now a certified Joga coach and has launched classes in the Vancouver area.

WHY I CHOSE JOGA
MY JOGA STORY
After teaching yoga for a few years, I knew I was missing information that could make my classes more effective. I attended the JOGA certification in 2015 and found what I was looking for, in a language that made sense to me and it was packaged in a system that not only shone a light on individual weaknesses and imbalances but offered the tools to correct them.
Being able to help athletes take care of their bodies and minds inspired me to become a Head Coach with JOGA so I can train other coaches to do the same. I’m excited to help grow the JOGA team both locally and globally.
