JOGA once a week has become part of my routine during quarantine and the pandemic. Now that I am back at practice again, I feel like all the core work we’ve done in JOGA has translated into better, stronger throws, and faster recovery.

JOGA is a fun way for me to engage and focus on muscles I don’t typically remember to utilize when engaging in normal yoga practices. I don’t think I’ve ever sweat so much during a yoga class, and can’t wait to continue. Rena’s knowledge of body movement and mobility was on point. She was able to correct me using cues that were easy to follow and without having to lay a finger on me or having me feel like a complete oaf.
I used to only do hot yoga because I was craving an intense workout that also built flexibility. However after overextending myself in hot yoga/not seeing any results I stopped doing yoga all together. Picking up JOGA has been wonderful for me. It’s an opportunity to improve my mind-body connection which is essential as an athlete, especially now given with social distancing I cannot play my sport. JOGA helps me access my athlete mindset while building strength and increasing flexibility.
