Jodian is a super instructor!! 💫 Not only did she make sure our positions were correct for optimal result, she explained each benefit the movements had. Learned lots and felt super great at the end not to mention today!! I look forward to my next class! Check out her classes!!!

First time JOGA with Jodian – LOVED IT! For those of you who don’t know what JOGA is it’s also known as yoga for jocks. “It’s an athletic based style of yoga, which means you get the benefits of a regular yoga class like improving breath control while at the same time activating the right muscles in the right pattern to correct muscular imbalances in the body. It’s designed to expose weaknesses in the body – what this means for someone doing Joga is that the muscles that aren’t active enough will be activated and the muscles which are overactive will have a chance to relax. Another great benefit of Joga is that it works within your own range of motion, instead of trying to force it for certain poses. This allows you to do the poses properly and activate the targeted muscles” – so discovered I wasn’t utilizing my lungs to their capacity and I was using muscles I had no idea I even had – thanx @selfignition4u for the great session #JOGA

Working with Jodian over the past 3 years, I have noticed a big-time improvement in the way I felt physically, but also in the way I was able to elevate the mindfulness component to movement. Lisa was an important member of our CFL Ottawa REDBLACKS High Performance Team during my time as the Head Athletic Therapist. As an athlete in my early 60s, I have occasionally had injuries and issues that needed to be taken into account when doing Joga. Lisa has been able to modify and personalize my sessions to both accommodate for the issue and offer ways to strengthen and improve mobility of the areas involved. As a coach, she always manages to get you working hard while still making her sessions enjoyable, non-judgmental and effective. Lisa’s knowledge of and passion for Joga is clearly evident in her classes.

Joga was like a blast of fresh air, a no-nonsense approach to strength, breath and flexibility without the mystic underpinnings of Yoga. Not that there is anything wrong with that but coming to the studio to improve my breathing on the bike, Joga seemed to be a better fit.
The strength benefits of a regular practice are evident, but the real payoff is the ability to focus on the calming rhythm of the breath while everything is on fire. I’ve noticed that my recovery time between activities has decreased, and I know all too well that the extent and duration of injuries is lessened due to the increased flexibility that comes with regular practice.
Lisa is an incredible teacher, interesting and thoughtful. She infuses her classes with energy, humour, and a genuine interest in the development of her students\athletes. She has an uncanny ability to tailor a class to meet the needs of individual students while delivering a challenging workout for the whole class. Don’t be fooled by her pleasant demeanor; she watches her students like a hawk, and her verbal cues are eerily precise.

When Amanda invited me to do my first Joga session I had low expectations. I wasn’t experienced in any Yoga related programs before, but I have a lot of trust and respect for Amanda, so I gave it a try. I quickly noticed exceptional improvements with specific muscles. When it came to working out I found lifting a lot easier and I was able to increase my performance significantly compared to last year. I’ve also noticed my recovery time is a lot quicker from practicing breathing during Joga. I am so grateful to be involved in such an exceptional program and I can’t wait to use these techniques next year during my upcoming hockey season.
